NEW, DARING, DASHING!!! This post is all about the Mattonelle Margherita tile collection. I have had so much fun this week getting ready to share this collection by Mutina and Nathalie Du Pasquier. I'm not positive that this collection will be everyone’s cup of tea (even though it should be), but from a design perspective you must appreciate that this collection is bold and daring and unlike any other tile collection I’ve ever seen! It is soooo cool!!
To start, let us talk about Nathalie. She is a French artist and is one of the founders of the Italian 80’s Memphis Group (look it up if you don’t know what it is… and thank me later). The Memphis style is iconic, and Nathalie is one of its leading ladies. So, the fact that she has hopped on a project with Mutina to design a tile collection is so exciting!

The Mattonelle Margherita tile collection is the 2nd collaboration between Nathalie Du Pasquier and Mutina. With all her art and design experience, it’s surprising and exciting to know that this is her first tile collection—and she hit it out of the park! It is so fun and full of life. With such simple and abstract designs on the individual tiles, you can combine them to make endless combinations! Making your space(s) feel custom, intentional, sooo full of life, and absolutely FEARLESS.
The collection first caught my eye because it reminded me of all the beautiful custom artistic tile work in Barcelona. Que subtle travel brag in photos below! Each home or office I visited had custom tiled floors in each room! It felt like every room used new motifs and colors, but the house was still tied together and felt intricate like a tapestry. The same approach could be taken using this collection.
Although the tiles are all unique and their own, their coloring and styling pair unexpectedly and impeccably. With 41 (yeah you read that right—FOURTY-ONE) different tiles making up the collection, the patterns and arrangements feel INFINITE!
"Mattonelle Margherita is meant for everyone.
Mattonelle Margherita requires creativity.
Mattonelle Margherita is for the fearless."
-Nathalie du Pasquier
This collection reminds us to make the spaces we inhabit uniquely our own— dare to break the mold and be adventurous— take risks and be fearless!!

These glazed porcelain stoneware tiles can be used on floors and walls. They can be installed indoor and outdoor, plus they can even have a slip resistant coating added to them. They are environmentally friendly and contain no VOCS. Sizes vary from 8”x8” to 8”x4”.
I spent lots of fun hours last week playing with tile combinations and coming up with two options for a master bath with a freestanding tub. Which do you like the best? How would you do it differently?
If you are a designer, you’re going to love playing with these! And if you’re a homeowner you will too! But if you feel in over your head reach out to me! I would be over the moon to help you pull these tiles off in your space!
